AN-359 Monitoring EtherCAT telegram using WIRESHARK

EtherCAT uses a standard Ethernet telegram and the EtherCAT protocol type is recognized by most Ethernet monitoring software. When connecting a system together, it is often necessary to monitor the telegram traffic and see how the EtherCAT master and slaves are interacting.

This document describes how to set up an Ethernet Monitor using the free-to-download package “WireShark"
