Using an Ethernet switch for Ethercat
EtherCAT cannot use a standard Ethernet Switch. If you want a Switch because it makes the topography of the wiring more convenient, then you need an an EtherCAT Swtich/hub such as the Beckhoff CU1128.
Using a switch makes no difference to the logical layout of the network. The branches are NOT isolated so if any device fails or there is a disconnection, then all the devices on the network will go into error.

AN-353 Trio Ethernet/IP
This document describes Trio controller support for the EtherNet/IP protocol. The controller can act as a Class 1, 2 and 3 adapter (server) on an EtherNet/IP based network. The Motion Coordinator series 4 and above provide this support.
Fast EtherCAT start up.
The fast startup is done with ETHERCAT(0,0,5). It means the master does not wait for the drives to be in sync before going operational. The drives will still take the same amount of time to get in sync so you should delay doing any actual moves until ...
Ethernet IP between controllers
No, it is not possible to set up EthernetIP between Motion Coordinators because our EthernetIP can only be the server side and we have no Client (Scanner) function. There are other protocols which can be used, for example Modbus TCP/IP can be set up ...
