Trio Project Keys

I used to be able to generate project keys for Trio’s that are out in the field by using the Motion Perfect 2 project encryptor. I’d put the last 5 digits of the serial number in and that would give me the project key so I could make SD cards with encoded projects to send to customers.


Now I am getting CRC errors and can’t do this anymore. Is there something I am missing here?

Answer: In Motion Perfect version 4 the controller security code has to include a CRC that is generated by Motion Perfect. If you change the last 5 digits to apply it to a different serial number then of course the CRC is not correct.

You can still use Motion Perfect 2 to generate the controller key without the CRC. The algorithm has not changed.
