Question- resolver input to Motion Coordinator
The usual setup for a servo drive and motor is that the resolver on the motor will be connected to the Drive. It is used for commutaton angle and for speed/position feedback. The Servodrive would then have an emulated encoder output, usually ABZ incremetal, that can be connected to the Motion Coordinator's Encoder port. We have only rarely come accross a need for direct connection of the resolver to the Motion Controller so there is no facility for that. Direct resolver connections are quite specialised.

What does SERVO_OFFSET do?
SERVO_OFFSET is a system parameter that is usually set by the operating system. The value depends on the SERVO_PERIOD, the modules fitted (to a MC664X) and the model of Motion Coordinator. It should not be necessary to set this in a system. Only ...
EURO 404 - Motion Problem at SERVO_PERIOD 250
A motion problem could occur when running MC403, MC405, Euro404 or Euro408 at 250 usec servo period. The moves would stop (buffers frozen) and an uncommanded movment could occur on one axis in an XY pair. The issue occured very infrequently and was ...
Do Motion Coordinators have exernal digital and analogue I/O for each axis?
The internal and external I/O is flexible. Any axis can use any Input as home, limit switch and feedhold inputs. While the servo loops must use the on-board analogue outputs for servo drive control, the external ADC input modules may be used for ...
REGIST question
Question: Can I use more than the 8 inputs 0 to 7 on the MC4N/MC6N as registration inputs, using REGIST(21 ... ) ? Suggestion & resolution: The hardware that does the registration is only there on inputs 0 to 7. You can do a "soft" regist that is ...
DX5 Brake Motor Control
There are two parts to setting up the brake control for DX5 drives that have brake motors connected to them. 1. Set the DX5 drive module for the axis required for remote brake control. In Basic Setup set the Motor Brake Assignment to Brake ...
